The
Welcome

Hi.  I'm Amy Day.
...
I'm a yogi.
(who doesn't give a damn about the current status of your crow pose)
An herbalist.
(essentially a dirt-worshipping hippie at heart)

A writer.
(my primary love language, y'all)
A mama.
Podcaster.
(check out this spiffy co-creation here...)
Teacher.
Lifelong devotee of the Creative.
(and former theatre dork, as well.)
...
And steadfast believer
in the Magic & Medicine
that each and every one of us carry.

I see my roles inside this life as follows…
Sister.
Mother.
Lover.
Teacher.
Friend.
Community builder.
Wisdom tender.
& well, Bullshit-Caller-Outer.
I consider the work of my own (heart &) hands to be that of
Healing
Re-structuring
Excavating
Fortifying
& Mending…
I am here to help YOU move into a more aligned & powerful place inside your own head, heart & life.
I am here to walk with you into your greater purpose.
I am here to help you claim & re-claim the tools, wisdom & agency you need to be a force for good inside this world.

Shall We Begin?

When I think Amy, I think Magic. I love her! Whether in yoga class, ceremony, or some other intentional beautiful ways in which she connects with the community and herself. She holds powerful sacred space. Bright, present, authentic, and playful. Within this lovely container she invites us, with smile, to find our edge...and maybe just beyond. I am grateful for this woman and the light she brings to this community."

The Yoga Bit...

I know what you're thinking.
Yoga.
As in...
Bendy, cis, upwardly-mobile white folks balancing on their forearms on a Costa Rican beach somewhere, right?

(Uh, no.)

Yoga.

As in...

A tool to land inside this body.
To return to it and bless it and right it and remind ourselves of the holy-ness of bones and skin & nerve & lungs once more.
To remember what a holy thing it is to live inside this world and skin again.

As in...
Union.  To yoke.
To bring together our inner and outer life.  To show up - as whole beings.
Body. Brain. Heart.  Spirit. Ego. Shin splints. Heartbreak. Brilliance.  Failures.
All of it.

As in...
Gathering up basic and profound tools like movement and breath.
(Yup. you’ll probably start doing some form of daily movement as a little side effect of our time together, friend.)
And remembering that the body has wisdom to impart.

We always have a safe and sovereign place from which to begin and end.

As in...

I will greet you - see you -
not just as the sum of your parts
- your looks, your achievements, your job title,
your age, your weight, your gender,
your bank balance,
your f*ck-ups,
your talents, your vice  -
 - nor anything else -
but as a wise, ancient and knowing being.
I will hold space for you own knowing and healing to emerge.

As in...
Together, we will create a safe and sacred space -
one where we can practice going deep -

and sitting with discomfort.
So that you can build up a practice and skill set you can use & leverage inside this World.
Inside this Life.

I have been a student of this healing practice for almost two decades now.
(I've had some rad-ass teachers down the road, as well.
I'm a lucky gal.)

And teaching & sharing this lineage for the past 9 years.

This practice, as I know it, has not given me a means to levitate beyond this life.
A way to achieve a perfect body or abscond with the difficulties of moving through this world.

Nor should it.

Rather, it has granted me tools. rituals, practices and a lush philosophical framework with which to
Fortify myself.
Anchor myself.

Replenish and renew myself
so that I can do the work to which I am called to in this world.

And that is the heart of what I bring to you.

Because your medicine is needed in this world.

Amy is inspiring and motivating. I took one of her 30 day courses that really helped me re-think what I wanted in all areas of my life. Her words are like a soothing hot cup of tea that are filled with thought provoking imagery of how you want to live your better life. I get filled up with positive energy and new ideas whenever I take a yoga class from her or read her emails. She is a shining jewel that I am so glad to have found."

The Herbalist Bit...

I consider my own Herbalism training,
(the bulk of which I've gratefully received from Jane Bothwell of the Dandelion Herbal Center)
to be Wise Woman training.
Many people come to the plant path because they have a burning desire to dive deep into the natural world.
They wanna study the grasses and flowers and learn the latin names of the plants by heart.
Not me.
I am the daughter of an allopathic physician
& an Eat-Sleep-Breathe-It type musician.
I came to this work because I wanted to look at healing from a multi-faceted perspective.
Not just - I have this problem please give me a pill to fix it.
But rather - I have this issue.
I have something that is coming up inside my body, heart, head, life - and I want to look at the ways in which I can conduit my own healing.
How I can utilize the basic tools at my disposal - food, water, community, and yes - plants! to restore balance and vitality to my whole being once more.

This is slow-brew, DIY healing.

This is re-awakening & acknowledging our place in the natural family of things.

This is tapping the wisdom of the ancients and the Earth itself.

This is re-establishing right relationship with the planet, with the body, and with Spirit/Source/G*d.

This is  - yes! - about teas and tinctures and salves and potions and witchery and magic and holding hands and closing eyes and dropping into a SONG.

This is to learn that Medicine is often close by.
It takes many forms.
And there is much - MUCH - that we can heal and summon - with OUR OWN TWO HANDS.

Amy is a gem who will add sparkle, insight and support to your life. Her coursework, writing, and photography is beautiful and thought provoking. As a teacher and coach, she asks questions that lead to authentic, life-changing work. She listens with an open heart and offers genuine support. I can't count the number of times that one of her emails arrived exactly at the right moment. "
- Carla Paliaga

The Writing Bit...

You're gonna need some ballpoints for our time together.  I will be asking you to Write it Down.
Your thoughts, your desires, your aims, your fears, your To-Do lists, your priorities, your gratitude, your grumbly-bits, your secret heart, your inner critic , highest self and your agent provocateur.

Because this is how we land.
How we turn the topsy-turvy swirly, mind-fuckery bits into some semblance of good, of gold, of nourishment & LIGHT.
This is how we spin it into substance and make sense of what wants to come forth.

This is (partially) how the way becomes known.

A big piece of any work we do together will include the dispatches - notes, revelations, tools & insights that I send to you.
Love notes.
Lists.
Recipes.
Remedies.
Rants.

Reminders and Bullet points wrapped up like a Prayer.

WORDS are a big piece of my personal Love Language and how the Magic comes through me out into the world.

And it's a chunk of what I'll be passing on to you.

So that you can begin to divine the special language and the magic
that You carry, too.

Amy Day has an amazing ability to create an intentional space for people to learn and grow together. Regardless of what she is offering, whether it's focused on yoga or wellness or writing or creativity, I always leave feeling more joyful, more aware, and stronger in my body and mind. I highly recommend any class or experience Amy has to offer."     --Keytra Meyer

The Mama Bit...

I’ve got this 6-year-old that I commune with everyday.
And she has taught me that my job is not to present a picture of perfection.
But to rather help navigate a path that includes a lot of the deeply Im-Perfect.
My job is to be deeply present for her.
Bring the whole of me - my experiences, teachers & tools - to the table - and to offer them as needed.
To help her master the art of the Fuck-up.
To teach her to laugh when things inevitably don’t go her way.
To craft resiliency in the midst of disappointment.
To know her own strength so she can summon it at will.
And to steep her deeply inside of her own Wisdom, her innate Joy, and boundless capacity to Learn, Grow
& LOVE (as in the active, Verb form of the word.)

I don’t wanna be your guru.
(Soooooo not applying for this job title, friend.)

I don’t want to share my secret 5-part recipe for Enlightenment or cleanse your auric field or re-align your chakras or sell you on my safeguarded, mystical map to Life.

I don’t want to take you out of this world.

I want to better help equip you to LIVE and WORK and SERVE and LEAD inside this one.

I am here to hold space for what is wanting to come forth for you.
I am here to mirror back your own brilliance.
Your own solvency.
Strength.
Solutions.
To reflect back a piece of your own heart and remind you of Why YOU ARE HERE.
I am here to bolster, love up, nourish, nudge & support you.
We can kick that phony-ass guru nonsense to the curb.

This is what I shall bring to the table.
And to our time together.
This is my toolkit & the codes that I carry.
