Yoga for Healing

You've heard that yoga means "to yoke". To come together. To bring the disparate parts of ourselves and our lives and one another...to the circle.
To find the breath and the heartbeat and the pulse that unites us all.
During this unprecedented time of global isolation, I will be showing up each Tuesday morning to offer a multi-level physical practice, with plenty of opportunity to pause, breathe & reflect.
We'll look at grounding postures.
Breathing exercises to help us regulate our nervous systems.
And I'll offer an interactive (optional) circle time at the end for everyone to drop in and share their experiences, tools & allies they're calling upon right now & offer something of support or ask for what they need right now.

Transformation atop the Page
Thursdays, 5/7-6/25, @ 5-6:30 pm, PST
Writing has been a constant presence in my life for as long as I can remember.
A practice, like yoga, that I return to, again and again to lean into What Is.
What we do atop the mat.
Atop the page.
Is a quest to right ourselves.
Understand a piece of Life’s mystery inside the delicate vessel of this mind/skinsuit just a wee bit better.
It is a way to move to the other side.
The other side of our doubt.
Our disbelief.
Our smallness.
Our bullshit.
Our conditioning.
Our trauma.
It is a gentle re-wiring of our cells & synapses.
So we're starting up a Writing Circle.
A way to practice showing up inside these mercurial times.
A weekly, drop-in space to explore the practice of Creative Writing as a vehicle for transformation and healing during this tumult of Covid-19 (and perhaps beyond?)
Each week, we'll gather via Zoom.
Do a brief check-in (either aloud or on the page), then spend a good chunk of the time doing some guided writing.
I'll bring a prompt and (likely) a small somatic or mindfulness practice & we'll leave a good chunk of time at the end for those who would like to share their words aloud.
Whether you are new to writing or have a long-held practice or passion you'd like to return to (but need a little loving nudge to get there), I invite you.
Expressive Writing has been a way for me to untangle myself.
To understand better my own place and purpose in the world and to heal - on all levels of my being.
This time is open to writers of all stripes & types.
We just ask that you bring an open & willing heart.
Offered, again, by donation.
Which are gratefully accepted, but not expected.

Holistic Wellness in a time of Pandemic

How must our tools and lexicon shift during a time of global dis-ease?
What does it look like to shift out of the initial shock & reactivity of this trauma and into a mode that is more nourishing & sustainable?
How do we best caretake ourselves at this time - so that we are better able to show up to the challenges that face us, but also empower us to begin to envision a more healing world for us ALL - when we finally see this time's end?
Using the yogic framework of the koshas (the various sheaths inside the energy body, according to ancient, Tantric philosophy), we'll look at weaving in new practices each week that address...
